How to Reverse Audio in CapCut

What if you want to reverse only the audio of a video, not the video itself? For example, maybe you want to create a mysterious or spooky sound effect, or you want to hide a secret message in your audio. Unfortunately, CapCut does not have a dedicated feature for reversing audio-only. However, there is a workaround that you can use to achieve this effect. In this blog post, we will show you how to reverse audio in CapCut using this simple trick.

Step 1: Import your video to CapCut and split the section that you want to reverse.

Open CapCut and tap on New Project. Select the video that you want to edit and tap on Add. Then, tap on Edit and find the section of the video that contains the audio that you want to reverse.

You can use the timeline to scrub through the video and adjust the start and end points. Tap on Split to separate the section from the rest of the video. You can delete the parts that you don’t need by tapping on them and selecting Delete.

Step 2: Copy the split section and reverse it.

Tap on the split section that you want to reverse and tap on Copy. This will create a duplicate of the section on a new layer above the original one.

Tap on the copied section and tap on Reverse. Wait for a few seconds until CapCut processes the reversal. You will see a reversed icon on the copied section.

Step 3: Mute the original section and extract the reversed audio.

Tap on the original section and tap on Volume. Drag the slider all the way down to mute it. Then, tap on Done. Now, you have two layers of video: one with normal video and muted audio, and one with reversed video and reversed audio.

Tap on the reversed layer and tap on Extract Audio. This will separate the audio from the video and place it on a new layer below. You can delete the reversed video layer by tapping on it and selecting Delete.

Step 4: Adjust the position and duration of the reversed audio.

Now, you have a normal video layer with muted audio and a reversed audio layer below it. You can drag and drop the reversed audio layer to align it with the original video layer.

You can also trim or extend the reversed audio layer by tapping on it and dragging the handles on both ends. Make sure that the reversed audio matches with the original video as much as possible.

Step 5: Export your video with reversed audio.

Once you are satisfied with your editing, tap on Export in the top right corner. Choose your preferred resolution and frame rate, and tap on Export again.

Wait for CapCut to render your video and save it to your device. You can also share your video directly to social media platforms from CapCut.
